Saltwash with a new twist
I want to be sure and let you know that if you order the saltwash in the 42oz can use the code saltwash42 in for the coupon code.
Saltwash is a something new I have been wanting to try for a while. Finally got the chance and I love how the Saltwash experiment turned out. I hope you do to.
So well in fact that we became a retailer. You can find Saltwash located in our store and at E1 and F2 booth at Blue Suede Shoes Antique Mall, located in Bryant. This is also where I will be teaching all the techniques that you find here on the blog. If you are located in the Little Rock, Benton, Bryant area and are interested drop by their Facebook page or our Facebook page, give us a like and watch for upcoming classes.
Now, back to the tables. I found 2 tables at the flea market, and they were in pretty bad shape. So, I figured Saltwash application would be perfect to hide all the blemishes.
I can’t believe I didn’t get a before of these, but you will be able to see in the video. This is only my second one I have ever done so please bear with me. As long as you get the idea that is all that matters.
I didn’t want the all over look of the Saltwash like in this picture here
which is more of a beachy look and I have some ideas running through my head for that but that is farther down the road. I do love a product that is versatile and you can get many different looks AND you can do that with Saltwash.
Instead of an all over effect, I only wanted it to be in designated areas.
As you will see in the videos below, I first applied an all over application of paint with the chalky powder added to a cocoa brown paint that I already had. Because it dried pretty quick I was able to move on to the next step of applying the Saltwash mixture in certain areas. I like being able to just use a chip brush and it is nothing more than smooshing, pushing and dabbing. You can’t make a mistake.
I chose to use Pure Earth Paints for the top color to get the most drastic effect and it dries so fast.
After watching the videos, if you have any questions please feel free to drop me an email or give me a holler.
Saltwash comes in a 10oz and 42oz containers. Check it out over at our store. And don’t forget to use the coupon code saltwash42 for a discount.
